1975 Travco 270 27' Motorhome
This is a 1975 Travco 270 motor home and believe the model is Mahal Special VIP 2+2 Rear Dinette, according to illustrations I have found online. It is powered by a 440 ci. engine, automatic transmission.The running gear and drive train are in good mechanical condition.The brake system has been replaced including new rotors, new drums, new master cylinder, both boosters were sent back to original company in Indiana to be rebuilt, new shoes, new pads, wheel cylinder kits, some of the brake line.
New oil pump, marine water separating fuel filter added, two new rv batteries and battery for generator.
Hydraulic leveling system (untested) but all parts present.
The interior is an on going project, much of the original wall panels have been replaced and most of the inside is back in place. Water system and propane system is untested. Some of floor has been replaced, the front area.
This motor coach has the following options:
- Gas-electric refer (runs great on 110, but untested on gas)
- Four burner stove with oven and vent hood
- Two bowl stainless sink
- Rear heat via engine cooling system
- Roof air
- Hot water heater
- Original Travco power center
- Propane forced air furnace
- Futon that folds out into bed
- Twin mattress in rear, but room for a larger bed
- Front seats turn to face back
The bathroom parts are back in place but not installed, shower and toilet. Vanity was in very poor condition and is not present. All copper tubing for water system and vent tubes are here but not hooked up.
On the outside the paint has faded with time, but this vintage motor home still turns heads. Has CareFree Awning (needs two rails) they got whipped in the wind. I will include the bent ones and new ones are available from CareFree. Windows are factory and could use some sealing. Spare tire is poor, but cover is new. All tires are in good condition with front being the best. I have new red and amber clearance lights that are including, but not on yet.
All the manuals shown are included.
This would be a great motor home project for someone with time and place to finish.
All road ready, just needs the inside to be completed. Again all water and gas system untested.
