1985 Vogue II 37' Motorhome
1985 VOGUE II 37' 300HP DIESEL LUXURY RV MOTORHOME - CROWN BUS CHASSIS
OVERVIEW
A rare 1985 Vogue II diesel pusher class A motorhome. CAT (301 model)300HP diesel engine with Turbo charger,
4 Speed Allison automatic transmission, air brakes, air suspension, all on a Crown Bus chassis. Overall
in good condition. This was one of the most expensive diesels that money could buy in 1985 and every Vogue
was custom made for the client. Really nice open floor plan. Very low miles (only 84,000), although that
cannot be verified. I have owned it for 19 years and when I bought it, it had 53,000 on it but they just
finished a dispute with the previous owner on what the actual mileage was. They went to court and the
dealer won the argument but it is still possible that it had 153,000 when I bought it instead. I have
personally only put 31,000 on it in the 19 years I have owned it. It was used primarily to go to the
Oregon Football games to tailgate. That was a 130 mile round trip per game.
It gets great mileage, I have gotten as much as 12 MPG on the open flat road. The motor could not run better.
Even after sitting for months in my garage, it starts right up with no effort. It smokes when it first starts,
(typical for a diesel) until the motor warms up then it does not smoke at all. I just completed a full service
job on it. All filters were changed, the oil changed, brakes adjusted, a new battery tray installed and they
put new belts on it. Total was $2,275.00 worth of work.
This is an older motor Home. I never lived in it or traveled very far, with one exception I never took a trip
of more then 300 miles. I took one trip to San Diego and back, about 2,000 miles round trip. I have never broken
down or had engine or transmission problems.
I never addressed minor problems so there is some things that need to be done, if you need them.
Negatives
The refrigerator is a three way - a squirrel made a nest in it and chewed up the wiring so it needs re-wired.
One 110 circuit (wall plug in on drivers side) either has a short in it or a bad breaker.
The wet bar and ice maker is not on. The ice maker was leaking water so I turned off the water to it and the Wet
Bar for I never used either.
I am sure there are lots of loose or missing screws etc.
EXTERIOR
Exterior is in good condition. Some fade/cracking from the sun). Obviously, with a used coach, you can expect some
small nicks, and scratches this coach has a few. It has never been wrecked but the back pumper got hooked and bent
once. Tires have good tread, The front tires are brand new. No signs of weathering. Aluminum wheels. Glass is in
good condition all around, no crack in any of the glass. Aluminum covered awning (blue & white stripped) over passenger
side. Onan 6.3RV- Lp Generator with a 50 gallon Propane tank to run it. Propane tank also has an adapter so you can
run your BBQ off of it (hose will be included). Generator runs great and is very quiet. Big storage bins. Rear
ladder, and hitch and wiring for towing and it is set up for a trailer with electric brakes, either two wheel or
four wheel.
INTERIOR
Interior is also in good condition, with wear and tear you would expect from its age. I put a new heavy duty, carpet
in it about 8 years ago, still great but needs a shampoo. I did replace the toilet and it does not match up with the carpet.
It has tilt steering, cruise control, dash a/c, back-up camera (not working), levelling jacks, etc. Entertainment
systems include: AM/FM/CD stereo, 11" TV in the bedroom, and TV antenna. Both front seats swivel around to face living
room. Living room has a sleeper sofa, a chair and bar stool. Dinette booth, which folds down to a bed. Coach sleeps 4
in total. In the kitchen,: 2 door fridge, 4 burner stove top, convection & microwave oven, ice-maker, hot water tank.
Nice counter tops and beautiful solid wood cabinets. Bathroom area is private, room for the toilet, vanity, and
shower. At the rear of the coach, is the queen size bedroom with walk-around bed, and lots of closet space. Two
roof A/C's and a ducted furnace, all working great. It also has a trash compactor that really comes in handy.
NOTE: I do have the original owners manual / Book with all of the wiring and other plans. Also some of the appliance manuals.
*This unit sold at auction in February of 2015 for $7,700.*
