1974 Argosy 20' Motorhome
A rear bedroom curved windows ultra rare factory Argosy 20 foot motorhome, made by Airstream as
the ultimate mini-vacation cruiser. This one has the optional
454 V8 which has been replaced with a recent factory Chevy crate motor and only has just over
4,300 miles on new motor. The coach has 65,000 miles on it. This was done when it was repainted by a
specialist for aluminum and also fitted with new airbags, shocks, and brakes. This vehicle has just
had a alignment and drives great,roof air blows ice cold. Dash has a/c works. Electronic
ignition and two new batteries.
Argosy also has a nice Nakamichi CD player with iphone, ipod, and blue tooth hook ups. This
Argosy has wet bath shower with new never used toilet, sink 2 burner stove, 3 way refrigerator
and two beds in the back that can be made into one large bed very easily with a center piece.
One of the pics shows its just barely longer than a standard van, only 20 feet can park easily
at a city standard meter spot. It is automatic with full power steering and simple to drive. The
body is all aluminum, could be stripped and polished, but has such a gorgeous paint job,no need.
It has always been stored inside a warehouse and has been in our family for years in California.
It is registered and title in hand. Also headlights are HELLA H4 super halogen lights with bright
bulbs. It is great on back country roads or woods that light up the whole road. It has the original
Onan generator that runs fine.
Trailer hitch, newer water tank for shower and sink, full curtains for privacy, no cracks or
pits or scratches in any glass- all glass is perfect, dash is nice, has custom cover, nice
new dual exhaust, NO SMOG NEEDED on a 1974.
The new factory Chevy 454 crate motor has the original carburator, which has been freshly
cleaned and rebuilt. All stock,the only thing upgraded on the motor is a Petronix electronic
ignition so you never have to worry about points.
It does have a furnace. The two captains chairs up front are brand new 2013 Chrysler Town and Country
chairs, new front carpet, and headliner is all original and perfect.
NOTES from Fred: The original Argosy rear lights would have been on a rear fiberglass bar. The lights on this unit
are likely from an Airstream trailer. The Suburban cooktop is also not original to the coach. I don't believe that
the step extension is original either. Also, the window in the door is not original to the Argosy units. The door
is likely from a salvaged later model Airstream-branded motorhome.
