1981 Airstream Excella 28 Turbo Diesel

General: Approximately 122k miles, 40k on new industrial Isuzu engine. Very good shape. Rear bath model with pull down rear bed, and leather couch that makes into bed. Leather captain’s driver and passenger seats. On return trip from Seattle to Indiana June 2005 overall 13.17 MPG fuel economy with absolutely no problems. Sat dish with off air antenna available front and bedroom area coach. Has not been polished or otherwise tampered with.

Mechanical: Trans rebuilt fall 2004 and where applicable, heavy duty updated Allison components used. New shocks 2004. Exhaust muffler back replaced. All running lights LED. Good brakes, no leaks. a/c is new heat pump model. New tires Fall 2004 – about 6500 miles on them, Dash air converted to 134. Engine is very strong, uses no oil. Has added hour meter. Bags front and rear. Air horns. Storage compartments sand blasted and refurbished. Propane tank set up for both interior and exterior use (fitting for gas grill). Onan 4500 watt propane genset. Tanks have 12 & 120 vac heaters. New Zip Dee awning.

Interior: New carpet throughout 2004. New custom drapes. New shades and custom oak privacy sides. New toilet Dec 2004. New combo micro wave/convection oven. All racks refrig replaced – refrig is propane/electric. TV/VHS rear bedroom. Leather in good shape.

Too many extras to detail including complete documentation, owner’s manuals etc. and spare parts. We lived in this coach this past winter in the Seattle area with temperatures in the twenties and were warm and comfortable. Has optional front heater (new).

This is a very nice Airstream updated but maintained in the spirit of its classic heritage. At virtually every stop, people respond very favorable to this unit. While it has been meticulously updated and maintained, it is 24 years old and requires a certain amount of attention from time to time. We are selling the coach and using time shares our son has provided for us to winter over in the future.
