1979 Airstream 24' Motorhome
Purchased in November 2004, Chevy 454 engine, owned by a WBCCI Region 6 officer.
In September 2005 dad was in Crossville, Tennessee, at a rally when hurricane RITA hit Lake Charles head on and the unit was damaged.
The drivers side windshield was shattered, while the passengers side has a small crack at the bottom middle.
The full size window just behind the drivers head was broken, and the next window back has a bent frame although the glass is fine. The limb went through the wall/ceiling just above the window frame. Once inside, the limb tore up the locker style cabinets, which we have saved.
The outside stove vent cover blew off and my guess is that it is now someplace in North Dakota.
I have found parts just outside Birmingham, Alabama. Contact Mr. Sonny Hare: phone 205-665-2531 or fax 205-665-9501. The price of the windshields are $831.80 for each side. The rubber gasket that goes around the windshields is $180.80, and the locking strip is $.55 a foot. Mr. Hare said he felt they had all parts needed for the unit. I have the part numbers available if required.
My dad purchased this unit from a military friend who spent over $13,350.20 in repairs.(Yes, I have the invoices and what has been repaired or replaced). Both the owners and service manuals are included.
This unit is in excellent condition and we will be glad to answer any questions. Additional pictures will be taken if required. We have many pictures that show conditions before and after the hurricane. The Coleman cover has been damaged as you can see from the picture. Dad is a Region 6 officer so we are not trying to hide anything about the units condition.
NOTE: THIS YEAR UNIT CAN BE POLISHED TO A MIRROR FINISH LIKE THIS UNIT
