1999 Chinook Premier LT 21 Class-C Motorhome
1999 21' Ford Chinook "Premier" RV. Triton V-10 Engine
I bought it May of 2018. I immediately had the local Ford Dealership rebuild the transmission.
Unlimited miles, 3 year warranty. Good at any Ford Dealerships in N. America. Transferable.
Took off to Hatteras, N. Carolina. Towing a 21' sailboat. Probably around 3k RT. Sailed my ass off,
saved a ton of money not staying in hotels. Everything worked fine.
A few months later, I took off for Maryland, and towed home my 1965 VW Single Cab. So, I've got
less than 5k on it. Once again, saved a ton of money on hotels. If your not towing, will fit in a
car space at the rest area, and of course if you are, will go in the back with the trucks. Generator
burns 3/4 gal an hour if you need heat or A/C without a land line. Otherwise, campground with electric,
which is still sooooo much cheaper.
Everything Stock on it works great.
Tows great. I use it to tow my sailboats to The Gulf, and East coast.
Strong Triton V-10. No leaks, no oil consumption. Oil change to Oil change. Always uses full
synthetic oil. 5k between oil changes and the dealer always does them.
10-14 MPG
All 6 tires are (now) good.
4k (4000 watts) generator (Works Great)
New Microwave
Cold Air (will freeze you out)
Hot water heater
Power seats
Trailer brake controller
Newer Radio/Stereo/CD/MP3/USB/bluetooth
2 burner propane stove
Clear title in my name
Full coverage insurance
Current tags.
Propane furnace and also electric heat strip on the overhead A/C controlled by a thermostat. The strip
is good to just a little below freezing, the furnace will keep it 80 plus in sub zero.
Solar panel with charge controller keeps batteries (2-100 ah deep cycle) at all times.
Cruise Control Class IV tow hitch with 7 pin (brake controller) for trailers with brakes.
Had Ford (Dealership) Rebuild the automatic Transmission. To the tune of 4k plus. 3 year unlimited mile
warranty good at any Ford Dealership across the country.
Recently replaced the 2 front tires with Cooper tires (50k warranty) rated for this RV load range.
Less than 2k miles on them.
Just had serviced. Synthetic Oil change, Lube, New fuel filter, 10 spark plugs, and boots, (good
for another 70k) 1 coil replaced, and a new intake manifold gasket, and a leak down test. All done
by the Ford Dealership. All warranty work good for anywhere in the country.
Right now it's winterized (RV coolant thru all the freshwater lines)
I take it out once a week, and drive it to town (RT 12 miles) park it, turn on the Gen Set and load
the heating strip (it's cold out) on the A/C unit for a couple of hours (church) to exercise both
the running gear and the generator and keep it lubed. Then I top up the tank to keep condensation out
of it. I also use HEET fuel injection cleaner additive every once in awhile.
So, a little dirty from sitting. It's under a garage that has a roof, but, is open at the sides.
Some decals are faded, and the fiberglass needs to be buffed out to make it shiny. I'd detail the
inside, but interior is in good condition.
